O.W. and Donna Schneider founded Schneider Brahmans in 1974, the same year they were married. They have ranched in the beautiful but rugged Texas Hill Country located on the Edwards Plateau northwest of San Antonio for over 30 years. O.W. and Donna are proud of the fact they are both 5th generation Texans directly descended from the early German Hill Country pioneers who first settled the region in the 1840s. Their sons, William and Wesley, were raised working and handling Brahman cattle.  They play a major role in today’s registered cattle operation including the selective breeding program implemented to produce the outstanding animals seen today at +Schneider Brahmans.

The Texas Hill Country is comprised of rolling and often steep limestone hills with rock outcroppings.  Stocking rates average 1 cow to 35 acres. The Schneiders have selected and bred their Brahmans to perform well and be self sufficient in this rugged large pasture environment. Important traits selected for include fertility, good disposition, correct feet and legs and cattle that maintain good condition using native pasture with minimal supplementation.   With the majority of the cows calving unobserved on their own in large pastures, special emphasis is placed on cows having clean bags, udders and good mothering ability.

The Schneiders are proud of their cattle being able to perform well in whatever type of ranching country they may experience. The cattle at +Schneider Brahmans offer the genetics and versatility for superior pasture, feedlot and show ring performance.
